Adult Beginning Ballet Workshop with Becky Stanchfield: Oct. 11-Nov. 15

Becky’s class will include beginning level ballet technique, focused on correct body alignment.

Becky Stanchfield has over 45 years of teaching experience. She has taught at Macalester College, Zenon Dance School, University of Minnesota, Minnesota Dance Theatre, Halifax Dance (Nova Scotia) and more. As a master teacher, she brings a thorough understanding of technique and movement principles to her work. She is especially well known for an ability to develop the individual potential of the dancers with whom she works.

Previous ballet experience recommended.

Adult Beginning Modern 2 Workshop with Thern Anderson: Sept. 29 – Nov. 3

Thern’s class will teach body and spacial awareness; rhythm and phrasing, ensemble dancing and injury prevention through modern dance patterns and improvisation. Students enrolled in this workshop should have some prior dance experience.

Thern Anderson started dancing at the University of Minnesota and perform with Choreogram Dance Company.  She has taught to all ages and abilities in Washington, DC; Portland, Oregon and Minneapolis, MN

Adult Beginning Modern 1 Workshop with Kathy Mohn: Oct. 18-Nov. 22

Kathy’s Adult Beginning Modern 1 Dance workshop is based on two important ideas: that we all need to move, and that dance enriches our daily lives. Classes will enable participants to find beauty and possibility in simple, accessible movement. Students are invited to adapt movement to their own bodies and fitness levels, while learning to dance with insight, musicality and phrasing. Kathy will introduce or refresh basic modern dance concepts and movement vocabulary, allowing students to experience better health, flexibility, balance, and increased strength.

Kathy Iverson Mohn grew up in Redlands, California. She holds an MA in Dance from the University of Southern California and a Dance-Theater license from Augsburg College. Kathy has studied with a variety of renowned dancers and choreographers, and she has taught at several colleges and universities. She is also a Dance Specialist at the Linwood Arts Plus public school.
