ADVANCED SUMMER INTENSIVE
This 2-week summer intensive program is designed for advanced pre-professional students (typically aged 17-24) who are interested in pursuing careers as professional dancers. It is recommended that students have four or more years of formal training and a solid grounding in Ballet and Modern dance techniques. Students will participate in daily workshop classes with TU Dance Center teaching artists and guest artists. Students can enroll for 1 week or 2 weeks. Each week will culminate with a work-in-progress sharing in the studio.

Join Lindsey Morgan for an immersive workshop designed specifically for dance artists, blending mindfulness principles, breath work, and somatic exercises to enhance your performance and creativity. This unique experience will focus on cultivating mindful awareness and building habits of non-striving, non-judgment, and a beginner’s mindset, essential for achieving optimal artistic expression.
Davente Gilreath’s workshop series will include instruction in the renowned choregrapher Garth Fagan’s technique. The technique is rooted in African Diasporic movement with strong influences in Jazz and Ballet. The workshop will include sharp precise footwork, fast turns, isolations and polyrhythms. There will be no use of mirrors to help the dancers establish a better understanding of their bodies and avoid a judgement free space. The workshop is designed to be a collaborative effort relying heavily on the community of the group to help create a fun, enjoyable experience for everyone involved. The workshop will be dynamic in energy and strive to push dancers past their comfort zones.
Join Anna Pinault for an immersive workshop designed to encourage young dancers to break out of their comfort zones and discover new artistry within themselves. Through mindfulness, physical activation and strengthening, and the generation of choreographic phrase work, dancers will connect with their own bodies on a deeper level and leave with tools to continue the cultivating their craft on their own.

Gregory Dolbashian was born and raised in New York City, he received his dance training at the Alvin Ailey School, then graduated cum laude from SUNY Purchase dance conservatory. He debuted his own company, The DASH Ensemble, in December 2010 at The JOYCE SoHo. DASH Company performance credits include The JOYCE Theater, Baryshnikov Arts Center, New York Live Arts, Guggenheim Works and Process Series, Kaatsbaan, Joe’s Pub, Central Park Summerstage, Tribeca Film Festival, Venice Biennale in Madison Square Park, Bryant Park Dance Fest, as well as domestic touring all over the U.S. including Dallas, L.A., and North Carolina. Gregory, in partnership with dance education specialist Lindsey Pettus, is also the co-founder of The DASH Academy. He has been commissioned for original works by American Ballet Theater, including exclusive creations for Jeffrey Cirio, Daniil Simkin, and Hee Seo. Ballet commissions also include Atlanta Ballet, St. Louis Ballet, and Ballet Austin. He was the recipient of the highly selective Footprints commission at American Dance Festival, and was the first commissioned choreographer for Limon Dance Company’s newly formed Limon 2. Awards for Choreography include Hubbard Street 2 International Competition, Ballet Austin’s New American Talent, and Northwest Dance Project’s Pretty Creatives. Commissions for Contemporary/ Rep companies include LA Contemporary Dance Co., Owen/Cox in Kansas City, Dark Circles CD in Dallas, TU Dance in MPLS and Northwest Dance Project in Portland, OR. His collegiate and training program commissions include Juilliard, Princeton, Point Park, LINES Ballet, BODYTRAFFIC Summer Study, MOVENYC YP & S.W.E.A.T programs, NYU, SUNY Purchase, University of Minnesota, Fordham/Ailey, Montclair State, and SAM Houston State. Faculty positions include Broadway Dance Center, Gibney Dance, The Martha Graham School and Peridance Capezio Center. Adjunct positions held at SUNY Purchase and The Hartt School. He has conducted multiple masterclasses around the country including Juilliard, NYU, UNCSA, The Hartt School, Ballet Hispanico, UC Irvine, SUNY Purchase, Point Park, Booker T Washington HSPVA, OCSA and HSPVA in Houston. In addition, Gregory, alongside fellow choreographer Loni Landon, is the co-founder of The PlaygroundNYC, a choreographic initiative that was voted 25 to Watch in 2013 by Dance Magazine.
Lindsey Morgan was born and raised in Dallas,TX Lindsey began her dance training at the age of 3 years old. She is a University of Texas at Dallas graduate and holds a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and Early Education with a concentration in Child Development. Lindsey has received top tier dance training from professionals across the country such as, Marty Kudelka, Jenna Dewan, Kim McSwain, Jason Parsons, Justin Giles, and Kevin Brown. As a facilitator of both dance and education, Lindsey partnered with co – founder and artistic director Gregory Dolbashian in 2019 to form The DASH Academy, an artistic training program for young artists seeking higher education in dance movement and academic studies. Lindsey received the title of Managing Director for professional dance company The DASH Ensemble during their relocation from NYC to Dallas in 2020. In conjunction with owning and operating DASH Academy and managing The DASH Ensemble, Lindsey is currently creating a curriculum, Mindfulness for Artists, in which she facilitates to adolescent artists as well as artists in the collegiate and professional world such as The DASH Ensemble, Limon2, Sam Houston University, The Forum, and DASH Academy. Lindsey continues to travel across the country training students ages 5 to 21 in jazz, hip hop, jazz technique, and mental skills training for artists. Lindsey was most recently featured as Superwomen Spotlight for Dallas’ Women in the Know organization in the spring of 2022 for her work in art, dance education, and wellness. Most recently she has joined Adrenaline dance convention as the Sparks director. While Lindsey loves traveling and teaching dance artists and educators her favorite job and greatest joy is being a mom to her daughter Addelyn.
Davente Gilreath was born and raised in Minnesota. He began his dance training there at the Perpich Center for Arts Education where he was exposed to various forms and styles of dance including modern, ballet, jazz, African, and contact improvisation. Gilreath then furthered his career and studies in dance at the University of Minnesota where he received his BFA in Dance studying from professors such as Ananya Chatterjea, Erin Thompson, and Toni Pierce‐Sands. During the pursuit of his degree, he was also able to perform and create work with local Minnesota‐based companies such as Contempo Physical Dance and Threads Dance Project. Gilreath Joined Garth Fagan Dance in 2014 and during his 8 years with the company he was promoted to senior company member and appointed the Director of the Garth Fagan Dance Student Ensemble. He also taught Intermediate/Advanced Fagan Technique for the Garth Fagan Dance School and for the Garth Fagan Summer Movement Institute. Gilreath is now a dance instructor at The University of Minnesota.
Anna Pinault was raised in Minnesota, Anna worked as a dance artist and educator in New York City for nearly a decade before landing back in the Twin Cities once again to pursue the next season of her creative work. Her most recent performance work includes Yusha-Marie Sorzano’s THREAT, TU Dance’s The 3-Women Project, Ashwini Ramaswamy’s Invisible Cities, and projects with Black Label Movement, Joe Chvala’s Flying Foot Forum, Rovaco Dance Company, and the Des Moines Metro Opera. With a background in music, Anna’s choreographic creations often explore the transposition rhythm and other musical languages onto the body. Her recent work Anthem for You and I, an ode to the birth of rhythm, premiered at the Southern Theater, and was also selected to be presented at the Walker Art Center’s 2023 Choreographer’s Evening, curated by Darrius Strong. Her most recent creation, entitled foot/hold, is a solo work that embodies creature-like physicality and metamorphosis, and explores tension, release, and impact. Anna is also passionate about sharing the power of dance through education, and her work as an educator has included The Dance Theatre of Harlem School, The Neighborhood Playhouse School, Daya Yoga Studio, the NYC Public School System, Zenon Dance School, Minnesota Dance Theatre & School, and the TU Dance Center, among others. She also practices Thai Bodywork, and is studying for her MS in Human Movement Science. Her passion for bodily education spills into both her teaching and artistic work.
